Moe Nohara's Profile
野原 萌(10 February 1955-14 November 2012)
Moe Nohara: was born in Hirosaki City, Aomori, Japan on 10th February, 1955. She graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, 1977, Japanese classical literature. She worked as a TV announcer for several years. After the birth of her first child Moe began drawing. She was influenced by the work of Lisbeth Zwerger (Austrian artist) and she started to work seriously as an artist. In 1992, she opened an art school for children and has been working as an art teacher more than 10 years. She also taught “children's literature” at Tohoku Women's College which is in Hirosaki-city, Aomori. As well as working as an artist, she illustrates poetry and picture books, such as Winter Day, 2006. She has exchibited in Korea and Japan. People say she is like a mystical character from another world. Moe was a member of Japan Modern Naive Art Society.
